Does She Even Hike?

Fair question, I mean I would ask the same. I want women to feel confident in coming out to enjoy this journey with me, so here is the hiking behind this hiker.

I am an avid outdoor enthusiast. Running and hiking became my own personal therapy and journey to a healthier mind, spirit and body.

I have hiked everything from local Bay Area trails, pack hikes to Rose Peak, Yosemite’s Upper Falls, Lower Falls, Clouds Rest, Mt. Dana, Lower Half Dome, hiking through Yellowstone, Zion, Glacier and the Grand Tetons National Parks to making it to the top of Mt. Whitney the highest summit in the Continental U.S, with elevation above 14,500ft. The list could go on and on. Finding a trail and discovering where it leads is an ongoing adventure for me.

I have raced several 5ks, 10ks, 11ks and 1/2 marathons and Ragnar Colorado 2018. Most recently I set out on one the biggest challenges of my life thus far, becoming an IronWOman 70.3 triathlete in 2018 and I continue to train with an amazing coach for upcoming triathlons.

I volunteer coaching local middle school Cross Country and Track and Field to help promote just how fun, challenging and exciting running can be.

Helping others runs deep to my core. I truly believe in the power of kindness and that one person can change the world for the better. I am the co-founder of ACT4E “Active Community Thoughtfulness for Everyone” a grass roots organization with my sisters helping homeless families, Veterans, individuals and youth in San Jose, CA for the past 10 years. ACT4E has been featured in the San Jose Mercury News as well as KTVU Channel 2 news. I was honored to be able to serve as the Director of Street Outreach with StandUp For Kids-Silicon Valley helping homeless youth ages 12-14, for four years, developing the Street Outreach program as well as mentoring several homeless youth where I was award a Certificate of Commendation for dedication and work with homeless youth.
